I never knew about that curse backstory. It's interesting, but I think delving into it too much kind of demystifies the character. That was the major failing of Rob Zombie's movies in my opinion, explaining the character away too much. It's a scarier thing (again, in my opinion) to ask, "Why is he doing this?" without receiving a clear answer.
I can understand that. I don’t like the Rob Zombie movies either, but I think the concept of separation between “The Shape” and Michael Myers can be a good use of horror. Especially in considering that the newer movies failed in bringing anything, it would’ve been nice to see something new other than... whatever they tried to do. But I totally get what you mean as well! I can see both sides, and that’s the fun part about characters like this!
